Kaly and Kilian’s story has always been intertwined with mutual friends, chance encounters, and shared experiences that go back years. Long before they were a couple, their lives had already crossed paths. Kilian’s best man, Christophe, actually went to college with Kaly, and in their senior year, they were roommates. After graduation, Kilian and Christophe moved in together, giving Kilian and Kaly the shared experience (or “shared trauma,” as they like to joke) of life with Christophe. One of Kaly’s bridesmaids, Yvette, was Kilian’s very first friend at UCSD, where they met during orientation. And, as it turns out, several of Kilian’s college friends had gone to high school with Kaly. It’s a wonder they didn’t meet sooner! During Kilian’s senior year, he visited Santa Clara University, where Kaly was studying, to spend time with Christophe. Since Christophe and Kaly were roommates, Kilian ended up crashing on her couch for the weekend. Despite the close quarters, they somehow didn’t become more than friends—yet. Fast forward a few years to San Francisco during the pandemic, where their paths crossed again. For their first date, they met up in Tahoe to go skiing—fittingly, in the same place they’ll be celebrating their wedding. Since then, their relationship has been filled with travel and adventures, laughter, and quality time with family and friends. Whether they’re skiing, running, or biking, Kaly and Kilian love sharing life’s journey side by side, and making everyday a great day.
